Vs 3-4
For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you. Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
We get busy doing all the things we think we should be doing. Then when life gets too messy and too miserable, we drop to our knees and plead with God for help. We throw out words like Isaiah did, we wait for God's miraculous answer, and we get frustrated when God does not come through right away.
However, even though God was silent, He was not absent.
He knew what His children needed. And He took His perfect time to execute both judgment and grace. (Isaiah 65:19) We know the end of the story. God will make all things new and will not stay silent forever. If it feels like God is silent in your life right now, and you feel desperate for a fresh word from Him, consider praying Isaiah 64:8 out loud
"But now, O LORD, you are my Father; I am the clay, and you are my potter; I am the work of your hand."
And then again like this:
"But now, O LORD, you are my Father; I am the clay, and you are my potter; I am the work of your hand."
Vs 8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the dlay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand.
God is at work in your life. Choose to seek Him with all of your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) Don't miss what He is doing. And if He feels far away, turn to Him. Look to Him in His Word, where He is never silent, and keep listening. He will speak in His perfect time and way.
God's silence does not equal His absence.
